about

The Quadraphonnes hail from Portland, OR. They began playing traditional modern compositions for sax quartet, but the drive to break preconceptions of what a sax quartet is capable of, led them to start writing and arranging new music for the group. Their newest album, Get the Funk Out!, is all about New Orleans second line, Latin rock, punchy pop, modern Jazz, gritty soul & fierce vocals! It is a reflection of their many influences including: Rebirth Brass Band, Trombone Shorty, Santana, Bootsy Collins, Lauryn Hill & Parliament.

The Album features Portland’s Femmes-fatale’s of Funk, Leah Hinchcliff on bass with Ward Griffith’s, a “Slammin’ drummer, traversing all manners of grooves with great chops, finesse and soul...” Rob Scheps. Also featured is percussionist, Mike Snyder (heard on every Mel Brooks soundtrack as well as many syndicated television shows). Guitarist Jennifer Batten (of Michael Jackson’s band) appears on several tracks as well.
